We arrived on Thursday at 3: p.m. and would have would have been on the beach by 4 but could not find our unit. We usually stay on the french side but finding the parking spot proved difficult.
We opted for getting a buger at bikini beach and then going back and unpacking. We were so tired we both fell asleep at 7:30 and didn't wake up till 6!
We woke up to cloudy skies that fared off about 10, so we headed to the beach, (just plopped down in front of bikini) and stayed there till lunch . As soon as we finished lunch, it started raining and became worse throughout the afternoon and night. We are in paradise so all is good and read the rest of the day.
Today looks like a repeat of yesterday, but we wiill see... Helen and Tim
Sorry the arrival did not go well, but I guess there was no one from a rental company to greet you? I certainly know about falling asleep early the first night on island! I can't figure for the life of me how people are always talking about planning an elaborate meal, the first night on island.
"We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch - we are going back from whence we came." ~ John F. Kennedy
Just a little lame humor seascape. Hope you have a great trip! By the way, we are heading down in about a week. Kind of an impromptu trip. We were going to Spain for our 40th anniversary and my 70th 😳but changed our mind due to weather conditions and world events. I’m pumped!
Today is Sunday and our third day of rain and second day without water. I really need a shower so I think we will head over to mullet for a dip of the clear water over there.
We have been reading a lot and watched some movies we have never seen before. Making the best of a bad situation. Some water coming on would be a blessing,
Hope the weather clears up. We had a week of sideways rain in Nov about 20 years ago. People on the island told us that it was very rare for it to hang that long so maybe things will get better for you.
Jim & Laraine--We had a similar experience in November about 20-25 years ago, while staying at Club 10. We were there for about 10 days, and it RAINED whole time. Back then, no internet, no TV, wow, hard to keep yourself from getting bored. That was the only time in all our trips to SXM that we really wanted to go home.
Yes, we came very close to cutting that (November 2003) trip short but we held out. The icing on the cake was when at the end of the trip I got gall bladder stones after eating lobster and shrimp at the Turtle Pier. (Not the fault of the Turtle Pier)
Sorry, don't want to hijack the thread, but maybe this will make Seascape's experience seem not so bad. Hope it clears up soon!
